In Los Angeles zijn de kanshebbers voor de Golden Globes bekend gemaakt. 'The Artist', een hommage aan de stomme films van de jaren twintig, sleepte maar liefst zes nominaties in de wacht.

Opvallend: ook de Belgische film 'Le Gamin au vélo' van de Waalse broers Dardenne zal meestrijden, en dat in de categorie 'Beste niet-Engelstalige film'. De prent won de voorbije maanden al verschillende prijzen, waaronder de Grand Prix op het filmfestival van Cannes. Een Oscar zit er echter niet meer in, vermits 'Rundskop' de Belgische inzending wordt.
Clooney als regisseur en acteur
Terug naar de Golden Globes echter, waar George Clooney als regisseur (The Ides of March) én als acteur (The Descendants) de top-vijf haalde. Die laatste dramakomedie maakt overigens kans om in vijf categorieën met de hoofdprijs aan de haal te gaan, net als 'The help'.
Andere film met meerdere nominaties zijn 'Bridesmaids' (beste comedy en beste actrice), 'Moneyball' (beste drama, beste mannelijke hoofdrol voor Brad Pitt en beste mannelijke bijrol voor Jonah Hill) en Hugo (beste drama en beste regisseur voor Martin Scorcese). Het 3D-spektakel 'The Adventures of Tintin' maakt ook een goede kans op een Globe. De verfilming van Kuifje moet in de categorie animatie dan vooral Rango en Puss in Boots zien te verslaan.
Titanenduel tussen acteurs
In de categorie 'beste drama-acteur' wordt het uitkijken naar het titanenduel tussen Clooney, Leonardo Di Caprio (J. Edgar), Brad Pitt (Moneyball), Michael Fassbender (Shame) en Ryan Gosling (The Ides of March). Het lief van Eva Mendes is met 'Crazy Stupid Love' overigens nog een tweede maal genomineerd. Bij de actrices is 'good old' Meryl Streep nog eens van de partij. Kate Winslet maakt twee maal kans, al is de concurrentie van onder meer Jodie Foster, Charlize Theron en Michelle Williams niet van de poes. Voor Emma Stone en Kirsten Dunst -eerder dit jaar nog verkozen tot beste actrice in Cannes- is geen hoofdrol weggelegd.
De Golden Globes zullen op 15 januari voor de 69ste keer uitgereikt worden in Beverly Hills, met Ricky Gervais als gastheer. Ze vormen een belangrijke indicatie voor de Oscars, die later georganiseerd worden. (svm)
